Yes, they can have hay fever and allergies. Anybody of any age can suffer from allergies and there are some serious repercussions if treatment is delayed. What starts out as sniffling and watery eyes can lead to upper respiratory infections, sinus infections, inflamed tonsils and ulcers in the throat from drainage and even hearing damage due to repeated ear infections. If you haven’t taken your child to the pediatrician then please do so as soon as possible. The things I’ve listed are the worst case scenarios but even without them people suffering from allergies truly do suffer and there are treatments available for even the youngest victims.

First off, I’m not a professional in the field of health but definitely, ‘yes’. Why not ? Okay they are younger than most of us and probably just don’t say, ‘ Hey ! I’ve got some kind of allergy !.’ But our anatomy is the same and our sensitivities in either our nose, respiratory tract, eyes etc., taking in, to some degree our individual differences, will be the same.
We live in a highly chemical age. It’s in our food, our clothes and our general environment. The child of 18 months is adapting to it in the same way as we do every day with either immunity or tolerance.

Yes! All 3 of my kids have allergies. My youngest is 20 months.

Yes, BUT many pediatricians will tell you that they’re immune systems are not capable of allergic reactions. They’re learning all the time…..
If you think allergies are the culprit, see a doc and ask about trying benedryl (a very benign medication) and see if it helps.

My little girl was put on allergy medicine for the 1st time at right about 18 months. she only had to take it during spring and some summer. I am getting ready to take her back because it is starting to flare up again.
