This May Sound Like A Stupid Question, But Do Cats Get Hay Fever?

I got some orchids recently and they’ve given me hay fever, and my cat has started sneezing since I got them, but I’ve never heard of cats getting hay fever, so let me know, do you think my cat has hay fever and I just haven’t heard of it before, or has my cat gotten sick from something else?

yes cats can get hay fever. but they can also pick up a cold from us. the only why to tell is take your cat to the vet. and follow up after that if the cat keeps sneezing.

My dad’s dog has allergies so I assume a cat can have them also. He gives him allergy medicine and fish oil but I would call a vet before giving an animal any kind of human medicine. It is also easier to slip stuff in a dogs food than a cats.

i don’t think that cats get hay fever because they love catnip and catnips are plants… but i think there’s a possibility dat cats may get hay fever… maybe u should take ur cat to the vet to be sure…

And with Fall approaching rather quickly,there are many allergens kicking in.Orchids may very well be on the DANGER list to kitties anyways.

They can, yes.
Cats can get many allergies.
You should be able to tell by the eyes.
