Dogs With Hay Fever?

my dog has just been prescried piriton for hayfever costs a bomb at the vets can i use hayfever tablets from chemist instead i was also told to give her primrose tablets as she suffers from stress being away from me is this odd.

my mums dog has an allergy and she buyes piriton (or the chemists own make which is often alot cheaper) at the vets recommendation and he is fine he has been having them for about 4 years. x

This may sound strange but my Boxer has bad allergies and my vet to told me to buy Benadryl and give her one tablet if she has an allergic reaction to any thing. It is cheaper and most people keep it in their house any way.

natural way is to put Vaseline around nose mouth and eyes as this makes pollen stick to it and not go into the dogs this way.
