What Kind Of Disease Is This?
Posted by: Alan in Hay Fever, tags: Disease, Kind, This, What
I am wondering what is the difference between hay fever and allergies. Today I have been sneezing constantly and it is very bothersome. I also get itching eyes, running nose, watery eyes, itchy nose, and feel very fatigue and irritated. Can someone tell me if this is allergies or hay fever? Also what is the best treatment for it? Thanks.

Don’t worry. It is not as severe as people are making it out to be.
The worst is basically what you have got already and I’m quite sure that this is probably not the first time it has happened to you.
Like other people have said, hay is a specific allergy, usually to pollen. Treatments are usually to try to avoid it allergen and to take medications that help relieve the symptoms.
I find benadryl to be the best on severe days but you need to be careful as it usually does make people sleepy. If possible go to the doctor and talk to him. Mine gave me a prescription for flonase. It’s a corisone nose spray that will help greatly relieve the symptoms, eye drops are also available by prescripton if symptoms are severe. Ask him if it is possible to see an allergist. You need to know what exactly you are allergic to (dust, pollen, mold, grass….) so that you can better avoid it in the future.
If you can think about where you have been and what might have set off your symptoms. Think of things that maybe you haven’t been around before or in a while and if you reacted in anyway before. (Take this information to your doctor with you if you can think of anything. He might completely ignore it in favor of doing more unbiased tests but it’s good to have an idea anyway.)
If you can’t go to a doctor, go to the closest pharmacy. Talk to the pharmacist. He will be able to provide you with over the counter medication that can help relieve your symptoms.
Hope this helps. Feel better!

Hay fever is a specific form of allergies. Usually from pollen or other plant matter in the air. The only treatments are A) treat the symptoms with an antihisitmine B) see an allergist, get an allergy test, and start getting allergy shots or C) live with it and buy alot of Kleenex. Each option has its up sides and downsides.
Good Luck!

This is Sunday and you cannot always see a doctor on Sunday. You can
Gargle with warm water with two tablespoon salt disolved in it.
Take Benadryl to relieve the symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose. Caution do not drive or operate machinery when taking benedryl.
Or instead of Benadryl take Sudafed. The Doctor may prescribe Beconase or Flonase to help control it. this sounds very much like hay fever. Hope you feel better soon.

Hay fever is an allergy, your allergic to pollen. A friend of mine has really bad hay fever, I’m not sure what he takes but I do know he gets a script from the doctor for it. see you physician.
You can try over the counter antihistamines like Benadryl, but it will make you sleepy.

Defintely Hay Fever.
Not so severe, in most cases.
You probably need to find the “best treatment” for it from a doctor.
I would suggest walking across the street to your doctor, instead of finding people online that prescribe you. WTF DUDE!!! Seriously, i think this is ridiculous that you want people to prescribe you! Ok, well im not maing a big deal, but please go to your doctor!!! We want the best for you, and dont hurt yourself with “stranger prescribed” medicine! Absolutely no offense to yahoo answerers!!!

Hay fever stems from your allergies. Be careful, if hay fever goes on too long with out any form of treatment, you could devlop asthma.
