Marlon Devonish, 33, is one of Britain’s most successful sportsmen; he was part of Britain’s Olympic gold medal-winning relay team at Athens in 2004 and has received an MBE for his contribution to British sport. Devonish has had severe hay fever since childhood. A new report: Hay Fever and Sport, predicts that many elite athletes preparing for Summer competitions could be seriously affected by hay fever to the extent that medal hopes could even be dashed. Spectators at the events and even those watching at home will also be affected by hay fever symptoms. PollenUK co-ordinates the National Pollen Network in Britain, a system of 20 pollen monitoring sites, eleven of which measure daily concentrations of all main allergenic pollen types. So if your into your summer sports but don’t want your hay fever to leave you on the bench, check this video out.
