You breath in pollen particals.
This irritates the nasel passages because of alergic reaction.
This into leads to secretion of mucous to wash out the particals and to deal with the inflammation from the alergic reaction.
Then this lead to snot and sneezing.

my son is 6 years old and has asthma ( quite bad) and also in the summer months severe hay fever. as the weather is warming now he comes home from school with red swollen itchy eyes and we have taken him to the doctors on numerous occasions and nothing they have prescribed has really helped. (piriton(hes allergic to),loradatine syrup, eye drops clarityn didn’t help much) any advice or experience in hay fever that mostly bothers the eyes, or medication ideas would be gratefully received!! i know you have to try different medications to find one to suit you but as it is the eyes i am quite worried now and doctors don’t seem to be helping much.
